In this issue: Welcome to issue #22. In this issue we have a couple of results and new dates to announcer as the world gets back to normal. I have brief PRIDE 16 results in here and will do the full review when the PPV runs on 10/13 like we normally do. Don’t forget the UFC PPV tomorrow night live from Las Vegas. It’s going to be a packed house and should be a great show. I’ll have a full review of the show in next weeks issue. This is NOT unrequested e-mail so if you don't want to receive it, e-mail me. Enjoy.

Dave Meltzer reported on WrestlingObserver.com today that an article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal had a quote from UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta in which he said the live gate on tomorrow's show would be $1.2 million. Meltzer pointed out that if this is true, than this is a phenomenal number, and that the WWF is the only wrestling company ever to top a million dollars, and they have done it less than a dozen times.

This letter was posted on the Underground Forum:

Attention UFC fans,
I have had a rough month. I feel like I have been out of touch with the fans. So, I just wanted to thank you all for the support.
Our day is finally here! Friday, September 28th will be a history-making event when UFC: Victory in Vegas takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Not only will this be the first event sanctioned in the state of Nevada, but Friday will also mark the return to cable television.
For the first time in over three years, iN DEMAND will be broadcasting the UFC, live on pay per view, along with DirecTV and Dish Network.
This is a critical juncture for the sport. If you have ever supported Mixed
Martial Arts, the time is now. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell total strangers. The UFC is back, and stronger than ever! Spread the word. You have already shown tremendous support in helping us sell out the Mandalay Bay for the first event in Las Vegas.
We at the UFC thank you all for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Dana White
UFC President

Only 3 days before Street Fight Minnesota. Ultimate Wrestling is proud to bring you this unique event

The last few days have been simply overwhelming as fighter from all over the 5 state area and even from as far away from New Mexico are clamoring to be part of Street Fight Minnesota. Thus far we have fighters from the world of Judo, Brazilian Jujitsu, Wrestlers, Karate, Kung Fu and the ever popular martial art of "street Fighting" Over 25 fighters will try their hand in the ring. In a format not seen since the early UFCs – it will be man vs man; Art vs Art – Who will come out on top – who will be the King of the Minnesota Streets. Sunday will be the first step of a few rising starts – Be there to see it happen!
Also for the first time ever – Women’s Mixed Martial Arts. The sport is quickly growing among women players and Ultimate Wrestling is making room at the table. See the first Women’s fight as the first female warriors lay the ground work for a women’s world championship. Also see Pro fighters back in the ring.

Mixed Martial arts has come a long way from the barefist brouhaha’s held in the basement of frat houses or in little sleaze bars. The reason is clear – you the fans! Ultimate Wrestling would like to thank you for your continued support.

Just in case you do not already have tickets to this great show – Order them Now – Call the Lion’s Lair at 763-572-2378 and get your tickets and be part of this great event.

$38 Ringside, $28 Reserved, $22 General admission (standing room)

If you already have tickets – please help us out and spread the world – There is a fight in town this weekend and everyone is invited.

Thanks again for your support.

Attention Grapplers,
The United States Martial Arts Association (USMA) National Grappling Championships are now just 5 short weeks away.

Submission Grappling, Submission Wrestling and Catch Wrestling. Three exciting divisions for all Grapplers. Divisions for a variety of skill levels and weights. Play for a national title at your skill level. Play a minimum of 4 matches per division entered.

Those who register before October 1st will receive $10 off the entrance fee; plus 2 free spectator admissions. Any form post marked before October 1st will receive the discount.

This will be the largest grappling event held in the mid west and a true National Championship. The perfect event for experts and novice players alike. Get your registrations in ASAP - You don't want to miss this one.

Also there will be several superfights that will excite both fans and athletes.
Minnesota's Martial Arts Academy head coach Greg Nelson; the trainers of champions and UFC fighters will compete with Combat Jujitsu's Steve Peterson. Steve is the head of a Jujitsu school that has been part of the Martial Arts scene in Minnesota for many years. Personally I'm very excited to have they two great coaches competing at this event.

Please visit http://bisons.net and look under tournaments for all the information and download forms to enter the event.

Help us make this a great event. No matter what you skills, size or style - you will have a great time at the:
